Togliatti is the second biggest city of Samara region and an important industrial center of the Russian Federation.
Internationally, the city is best known as the home of Russia’s largest car manufacturer AvtoVAZ (Lada), which was founded in the late 1960s.
Other industries are also presented in the city: chemical, food, industries, production of rubber and plastic goods, production of mineral products and others.
The city’s satellites Zhigulevsk, Syzran and Dmitrovgrad inhabit more than 450 000 people, of which many work and shop in Togliatty.
